Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with several major health issues. At the age of 26, I was unwilling to accept a life of doctors appointments or pills and began a journey to educate myself not just on what I put in my body, but also on my body on a daily basis. Our skin, our covering, is our largest organ. If you’ve ever turned over a product and read words you could not pronounce in the ingredients listing, chances are these are chemicals you do not want absorbed into your body.
Most of the products on the market for skin care contain Parabens, Phthalates, Petroleum By-Products, Propylene Gycol, Polyethylene Glycol (PEG), Sodium Laurel (SLS), Diethanolamine (DEA), Formaldehyde, Synthetic Fragrances and Nanoparticles. That sums up to a huge list of toxins, endocrine disruptors, pesticides and known carcinogens (cancer causing).
My research was eye opening for both myself and my family members. We began using products that were organic, and contained non genetically modified ingredients on our bodies and in our homes. Along the way we learned how to create our own!
